Courtroom Behavior
Be polite, quiet and respectful
in court. There are always other people waiting their turn. Be
patient. If you have an attorney, your attorney will first speak
to the prosecutor. You should wait until your attorney finishes
discussions with the prosecutor. After the discussion, your attorney
will explain the current demands by the prosecutor and your likely
outcome. You can tell your attorney what you would like to do.
If you represent yourself, you will have to wait longer in court
than when you retain an attorney because defendants with an attorney
will be taken first. You will have to speak to a prosecutor yourself.
Be patient, respectful, and evaluate your situation in a rational
and practical way.
